Animal Rescue; Adoptions; Fostering as a new Trade

The change in the concept of Rescue has been a big secret until a few years ago. People used to do it for the love of the animal. Now, it's turned into a business - although those in the game deny it.

Now buzz words are "there's a lot of money in rescue, adoptions. . ."

The ways to save a buck include things like using free resources and then charging people for them upon adoption. Intake fees, adoption fees, cash donations all add up. Also, Foster homes are being given the "honor" of really helping out by paying for the food of the pet they're fostering. If they don't want to pay for the food will they be told they can't foster? Best thing that could happen to them!

There are so many tricks to this new trade that it is discouraging to see how seedy people can be while promoting a face of caring. The honest little guy who's still paying for everything to help an animal is the only one doing an act of Kindness. Too many of the current "rescues" are not even registered with the Charities Bureau yet they operate on the same premises as a legal charity. They get donations, they promote themselves as if they are legally registered.

Now groups that get money from Funds and Alliances with big bucks still claim that they pay for everything out of their own pockets. That hasn't happened since they coined that little phrase. The little rescuer that no one hears about - that's the one digging into their own pocket to help an animal in distress.

People need to get up and do research, there are links posted and a website that "tells all." http://KittyKindaJourneyofaThousandLies.yolasite.com
